In 2020, I started this company by knocking on more than 20,000 doors in Boulder, Colorado. I introduced myself with a simple message:
“Hi, I’m Ethan Shapiro, your local Climate Change Realtor. If we sell your home together, I’ll donate 50% of my profits to nonprofit organizations fighting climate change.”

I was 22, brand new to the business, and launching a mission-driven company in the middle of a global pandemic. It was hard. It was lonely. But I believed in the vision—and a few people believed in me.

For the first five years, the mission was clear: use real estate to support the fight against climate change. And we did. But something deeper emerged in that time. I started listening more closely to my clients—their passions, their values, the causes that mattered most to them.

And in year five, it hit me: this business isn’t about my mission—it’s about yours.

That’s why I rebranded to Create Change Realty. Because now, when you buy or sell a home with me, 50% of company profits go to the nonprofit of your choice. Whether that’s climate action, animal welfare, housing justice, education, mental health—you decide. I just help make it happen.
